Luxury Glamping at BOSKO in Guatape, Colombia

A detailed review of my stay

Nestled in a secluded native forest in Guatape, Colombia is BOSKO an adults-only, luxury glamping resort. This incredible property boasts a beautiful sky pool, delicious restaurant, panoramic views and everything required to unplug from the outside world and connect with nature. I also appreciate that they are environmentally conscientious, relying heavily on solar energy to run their facilities.

Getting to Guatape

Guatape is located about 90 minutes east of Medellin. It is a beautiful resort town full of lakes and forests making it a popular getaway for both locals and tourists alike. There are several ways to get to Guatape including bus, taxi or private transfer. The least expensive option would be to take a bus. Buses run daily from Medellin and cost about $15 one-way.

For approximately $40 one-way, you can take a taxi and they can be easily arranged through your hotel in Medellin. We opted for a private transfer, which despite being the most expensive option, gave us the flexibility to explore on our own before checking into BOSKO. I couldn’t recommend the company we used enough — shout out to Julio & Oscar!

TIP: There is only one main road in and out of Guatape, which means if you get stuck in traffic — you could be stuck for hours! Speaking from personal experience, make sure to give yourself plenty of time when heading back to the airport in Medellin.

The Property

BOSKO is stunning. With only 8 mush(rooms), the property has a very intimate feel, making it perfect for relaxing. Upon arrival, the staff greets you with a welcome ritual of cleansing hands with fresh coffee beans and a refreshing cocktail before promptly escorting you to your room.

What is included in your stay?

Luxury glamping can get pricey, but relative to many places BOSKO is quite affordable. The average nightly rate starts at about $250 and includes:

  • Breakfast in your (mush)room
  • Evening smores
  • Access to the resort TUK (shuttle to town and Rock of el Penol)
  • Wifi

Other Amenities (added charge)

  • Paddleboarding
  • Boating
  • Massages (private)
  • On-site restaurant
  • Transfer to and from Medellin (~$45 one way)
  • Day passes can also be obtained

The (mush)room

We were in mush(room) 1, but all the rooms have unobstructed views of the lake, so there is no bad option. Some of mush(rooms) are glass (like ours) and others are plastic. I prefered glass for photography purposes, but again, there is no bad choice.

Sunrise at 5:20AM

The inside is well stocked with all the necessities, including an eye mask, robe and slippers. You can also purchase snacks and alcohol from the mini bar. The outdoor shower was a personal favorite!

The outside is just as beautiful as the inside. Each room has a private deck with chairs and an umbrella and some even have a hot tub. Definitely drank my tea out here in the morning!

Final Thoughts

There is nothing negative I can say about my stay at BOSKO. It was truly perfection from the moment we arrived. The only thing I regret is not staying longer!

Laying in bed and enjoying the views!

TIP: A lot of research I did suggested that Guatape is a day trip and it certainly can be. However, if time allows I highly encourage you to stay overnight, especially if you stay at BOSKO.

Have you stayed at BOSKO? We’d love to hear about your experience!
