Favorite Snapshots from Kruger National Park
Located on the northeastern part of South Africa, Kruger National Park covers a sprawling 7,500 sq. miles, making it one of the largest safari game reserves in Africa. Most people go to Kruger in hopes of viewing the Big 5 (elephant, rhino, leopard, buffalo and lion), but the park has an abundance of wildlife. Given my love of elephants, I was excited to learn that Kruger also known for its large elephant population.
Like with any place, there are pros and cons to going on Safari certain times of the year over others. I visited Kruger in December, when the bush was still mostly dry, which made it easier to view hidden wildlife.
